Instructions

  1. First, drain the corn and fry in 2 - 3 tablespoons of oil until it turns brown. Meanwhile, chop the onions and fry them with the diced ham and ground beef in 2 - 3 tablespoons of oil. When the meat is slightly crispy, add the grill spices and fry briefly.
  2. Then add the barbecue sauce and the pizza tomatoes and let simmer. Chop the garlic and add to the sauce, refine the whole thing with Worcester sauce and, if you like, with Tabasco (1 - 2 dashes). Pepper if necessary. Salting is actually not necessary as the ham cubes contain enough salt. Finally, mix in the seared corn kernels and let the sauce simmer until it is no longer runny.
  3. We always use the sauce as the basis for a barbecue pizza. The amount is enough for one tray, which with us is enough for 4 people. Then there are olives, mushrooms and onion rings and of course cheese. We prepare the pizza dough beforehand and let it rise while we make the sauce.
  4. You can also use the sauce as a pasta sauce, then you have to take a large tin of pizza tomatoes instead of the little ones and add some salt and not simmer for so long so that it does not become too thick.
