Peel and core the pears. Cut into quarters and divide again. The plums can be pitted, but you don`t have to. If the stone is difficult to remove, just prick it with a fork.
Then mix the red wine with sugar and cinnamon and heat so that the sugar dissolves. Then add the fruit and bring to the boil briefly.
Fill immediately into screw-top jars. Tastes good with game or sweets, e.g., ice cream, rice pudding and semolina.
