Mix the sugar, margarine, eggs and vanilla sugar until frothy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift over the egg mixture. Add 3 tablespoons of milk and knead into a creamy dough. Pour into a greased 22cm springform pan and smooth out.
Wash and stone the plums, but do not cut through them. Press the pitted plums upright and unfolded in a circle from the outside to the inside into the dough. Finished.
Now bake the cake for about 60 minutes at 200 degrees on the middle rack. Let cool a little and place on a cake plate.
Finally 1 teaspoon. Mix the sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle the cake with it. Always a success!
You can also use apples or peaches instead of plums. Then the cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar instead of cinnamon and sugar. If you put the dough in a 30cm cake base, you get a great cake base. Baking time then approx. 15-20 minutes at 200 degrees.
