Mix the margarine, vanilla sugar and sugar until frothy and gradually stir in the eggs. Keep stirring until frothy. Mix the flour, baking powder and almonds and stir the flour and almond mixture into the foam mixture. Spread the dough in a greased springform pan (26 cm) and cover with the plums.
Bake in the preheated oven at 175 degrees for 30 minutes. After half an hour of baking, spread the topping on the cake and sprinkle with flaked almonds. Bake ready in another half hour. Total baking time one hour.
