- Mix the milk with the sugar and egg yolk. Soak the sandwich toast slices in this egg milk.
- The egg white is lightly laced with a fork. Then the toast slices are first turned in the egg white and then breaded with the almonds.
- Now bake one after the other in hot clarified butter until golden brown.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve immediately with applesauce or stewed plums!
- Caution: the large sandwich slices break easily after soaking.
- If you prepare the dish with children, you should divide the slices in the middle so that there are no tears because something has broken!
