We prepare the necessary ingredients for baking a poppy seed pie. Melt the butter, heat the milk slightly in a saucepan (to a temperature of 35-40 degrees).
Break one chicken egg into a bowl (the second will be used to grease the cake). Add sugar and a pinch of salt to the egg.
Whisk with a whisk. Pour warm (35 degrees) melted butter into the resulting mass.
Next, add warm milk to the ingredients. We mix.
Sift wheat flour into a separate bowl. Add dry fast-acting yeast to the flour. Mix the loose ingredients, make a funnel in the center.
Begin to pour the milk mixture in small portions into the flour funnel.
We knead the yeast dough for the poppy cake. Put the dough in heat for an hour. Better to put the dough in a bowl and cover it with a towel.
Divide the risen pie dough into three equal parts. We roll each part into a round layer.
We spread the first round layer on a baking sheet. We place half of the poppy on it, not reaching the edge of the layer 2-2.5 cm. Place the second layer on top and also sprinkle it with poppy seeds.
We cover the second layer with the third. Lightly fix the edges of the three layers of dough.
Now the surface of the yeast dough pie needs to be divided into 16 segments (parts). We make cuts with a knife through and through. The middle of the pie should remain intact.
We carefully unfold the cut parts around their axis 2 times. Please note that the adjacent strips should be turned in opposite directions.
We unfold all the cuts in this way, and then we fasten them together along the edges of the cake. Beat the remaining egg and grease the resulting pie with it. Let the yeast pie with poppy seeds stand for 20 minutes.
We send the yeast dough pie into an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
