Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the bottom of a 28-inch springform pan with butter and powder it thinly with flour. Heat the oven to 185 ° C top / bottom heat.
  2. Grind the poppy seeds with the sugar. Mix the quark with the cream, sugar, vanilla sugar, custard powder and the eggs to a homogeneous mass. Add a good dash of rum to taste.
  3. Halve the mixture, add the ground poppy seeds to one half and mix well. Both quark masses can be sweetened to taste.
  4. Make a kneading dough from the specified ingredients, press it into the springform pan and pull up an approx. 3 cm high rim.
  5. Place about half of each mass alternately next to each other in the mold with a tablespoon to create a checkerboard pattern. Gently shake the form so that the first layer is smoothed out.
  6. For the second layer, put the rest of the masses offset on top of each other, i.e. dark on light and vice versa. Shake gently again. Bake in the oven (middle rack) for about 50 minutes.
