Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Peel the potatoes and grate them in a bowl. It is best to mix the salt, cheese and bacon with your hands.
  3. Line a deep baking sheet, drip pan, with baking paper and distribute the potato mixture evenly on it and press down a little. Then put in the oven for about 45 minutes. I always do a cooking test and nibble a bit. When the potatoes are done, switch the oven to 230 degrees and grill function and grill again for 5 - 10 minutes.
  4. If you have to cater to a vegetarian, you can separate a portion without bacon with an aluminum strip. Then 50 g would be enough for one half, otherwise 100 g can be added. In any case, both variants taste good.
  5. The potatoes are juicy and soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Can be eaten as a side dish or as a main meal with a salad. The cooking times are guidelines, always keep an eye on so that nothing burns.
