Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into pieces, cook in salted boiling water for 20 minutes. Drain the water and mash the potatoes with milk and butter to a fine puree.
  2. While the potatoes are boiling, chop the onion, garlic, paprika and mushrooms into small cubes. Fry in this order. Add the brown lentils and vegetable stock and simmer for two minutes. Chop the boiled eggs and add to the mixture. Add the olives whole or chopped, depending on your preference (they are easier to fish out whole if someone doesn`t like olives). Finally, season with the spices.
  3. Grease a baking dish and spread half of the mashed potatoes on the bottom. Now put the whole vegetable mixture on top. Cover with the rest of the mashed potatoes and finally sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  4. Gratinate the casserole at 200 ° C in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes.
  5. Alternatively, ingredients can be replaced (e.g. mushrooms and lentils with minced soy, kidney beans, minced meat, etc.) or omitted (e.g. olives).
