Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut into thin slices and cook in salted water until al dente.
  2. Peel the onion and cut into small pieces. Wash and quarter apples. Then core, halve each piece and cut into thin slices. Chop the parsley.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180 - 200 degrees top / bottom heat.
  4. Cut off the edges of the raclette cheese and grease the base and edges of the baking dish with a little butter (the baking dish I use measures approx. 31 x 22 x 6 cm and corresponds to 6 servings).
  5. Layer the cooked potatoes and the raclette cheese alternately in the pan, salting and peppering each layer of potatoes well. Start and finish layering with potatoes. Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, heat the butter in a pan, cook the onions lightly until translucent and then add the apple slices. While turning, sprinkle a little sugar over the top and let it stew a bit until the apple slices are lightly browned or caramelized. Finally stir in the parsley.
  7. Take the casserole dish out of the oven, spread the apple and onion mixture over it and place the casserole dish back in the oven for another 5 - 10 minutes.
  8. A delicious hearty, spicy and sweet mix!
  9. We recommend lettuce with a vinegar and oil dressing.
