Boil the jacket potatoes, peel and cut into slices, lightly season with salt.
Peel and core the apples, cut into slices and sauté with the sauerkraut in lard. Add the water and sugar and cook for 15 minutes.
Cut the sausages into small slices and fry them together with the diced ham.
Put half of the jacket potatoes in a greased casserole dish, spread the ham and the sausage slices on top. Then spread the apple sauerkraut on top and cover with the rest of the jacket potatoes.
Mix the sour cream with 6 tablespoons of milk until creamy and spread over the jacket potatoes. Spread the cheese, breadcrumbs and flakes of butter on the casserole. That makes a very tasty crust.
