Fry the liver in some of the butter. Fry the diced apples and onions in the frying fat until soft. Then puree everything together with the liver and the liquid butter and season with salt and pepper. Do not be put off by the fact that the crowd looks a little getting used to in this state. Pour into a loaf pan lined with foil, cover and let set in the refrigerator for about twelve hours.
Tastes great with fresh, home-baked white bread and, depending on your taste, with cranberries or cream horseradish.
