Instructions

  1. Halve, core and peel the pumpkin. Cut the pumpkin into cubes. Peel the potatoes and cut them into smaller cubes like the pumpkin. Clean the leek and cut into thick rings, wash thoroughly in a sieve under running water and drain. Peel, quarter and core the apples, then cut into large cubes.
  2. Put the stock in a large saucepan and put the vegetables in it. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the smoked pork chop on top of the vegetables. Spread the bay leaves and marjoram on top. Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. At the end of the cooking time, put the cooked beans, they should still be bite, in the saucepan and let them cook.
  4. Take the Kassler out of the pot and let it rest for a while.
  5. If necessary, season the soup with pepper and salt and sprinkle some dried marjoram over it. Serve with sliced smoked pork in deep plates.
