Wash, peel and dice the turnips. These are then fried in a little clarified butter or the left bacon until they start to turn brown. Then add a little water and cook the turnips in it until they are soft. At the end of the cooking time there should be almost no water in the pot. Now add a pinch of salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Then you can puree the turnips with the magic wand. If you like, you can add one or two flakes of butter. The turnip puree can be served as a side dish or with fried bacon cubes as a main meal.
