Instructions

  1. For the dough, mix the quark with the egg, sugar and margarine. Add the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt and knead everything into a smooth dough. The dough is a little crumbly at first, but after about a minute knead it turns into a nice dough. Let the dough rest for ten minutes and preheat the oven to 180 degrees circulating air.
  2. There are two ways to make the quark croissants:
  3. For the 1st variant, roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface into a rectangle of approx. 30 x 40 cm. From this rectangle cut squares with an edge length of about 10 cm. Roll up the dough squares from the corner and bend them into croissants. Brush the quark croissants with milk or condensed milk and sprinkle with a little dextrose, granulated sugar or chocolate sprinkles. There will be about 12 small croissants.
  4. For the 2nd variant, roll out the dough like a round cake and cut it into pieces of cake. Now roll up the pieces of cake into large croissants. Depending on the size and width of the pieces of cake, there will be 12-16 croissants. Brush the quark croissants with milk or condensed milk and sprinkle with a little dextrose or granulated sugar.
  5. Bake the quark croissants in the oven on the lowest rack for 10-15 minutes.
