Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees top and bottom heat and roast the sesame seeds on baking paper on the middle rack. In the meantime, chop the dates and walnuts, pitting the dates if necessary, and set them aside.
  2. In a bowl, knead all the ingredients except for the dates, walnuts and sesame seeds into a homogeneous dough. Then knead in the dates, walnuts and roasted sesame seeds. Divide the dough into eight equal portions and shape them into balls. For me they were about the size of a golf ball. Spread the balls evenly on a baking sheet and press them flat.
  3. Place the tray in the oven and wait about 25 minutes until the rolls are golden brown. If you don`t want the bread roll so crispy on the outside, you should add a bowl of water to the oven.
  4. The quark rolls taste delicious warm with butter and a pinch of salt. They are ideal for a nice breakfast or as a souvenir.
  5. Note: I used about half a handful each of the walnuts and dates and a tablespoon of the sesame seeds. Depending on your preferences, you can of course vary the quantities or use completely different ingredients such as B. desiccated coconut, raisins and much more.
