Peel the fresh white asparagus, cut off the ends and wash the asparagus well. Place the damp asparagus on a sufficiently large piece of microwave foil, sprinkle salt and sugar on top and spread the butter on top in flakes. Now fold in the microwave foil at the ends of the asparagus, then also fold the long sides around the asparagus, so that a leak-proof package is created.
Place the asparagus packet on a plate in the microwave. Cook at 600 watts for 5 minutes, depending on the thickness of the asparagus stalks and your preference for the firmness of the asparagus, cook for another 2 - 4 minutes.
Take the asparagus out of the microwave, wrap it out of the foil - be careful, it`s very hot! - and enjoy.
Asparagus cooked in this way retains its full taste because no aroma is released into the cooking water.
