Instructions

  1. Slice or cut the onions into thin slices.
  2. Put the flour, baking powder and quark in a bowl with the soft margarine. Then use the dough hook of the mixer to form a smooth dough.
  3. Lightly grease a baking pan (26 cm diameter), add the dough and spread it evenly with your hands or a spatula.
  4. Heat the oil in a large pan and briefly fry the diced ham in it.
  5. Then add the chopped onions and fry everything for another 4 - 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour the onion and ham mix onto the prepared dough base and distribute evenly on top. Sprinkle with grated cheese as an option.
  6. Whisk the eggs with the sour cream and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Pour this mixture over the topping and distribute it evenly. Put the onion cake in the oven and bake at 200 degrees, fan oven 180 degrees, for about 30 minutes.
  7. Let the baked onion cake cool down briefly, then remove it from the mold and serve.
