Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Put the potato slices in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper, pour some cream over them and sprinkle some cheese over them. Repeat this layer by layer and finish with grated cheese. Put the potato gratin in the microwave and, if necessary, put the lid on the baking dish.
Finish cooking the gratin at 600 watts in about 15-20 minutes.
