Prepare the knöpfle according to the instructions on the package.
Heat the oil in a saucepan and steam the onion in it, add the garlic and paprika powder. Stir in the tomatoes and the stock, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 3 - 4 minutes. Add the separated buttons and warm them well for 2 - 3 minutes.
Season to taste with pepper and salt, sprinkle with oregano (if necessary, marjoram) and serve hot. Possibly add sour cream and baguette.
