Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, crumble the yeast in lukewarm milk, sugar and two tablespoons of flour, stir gently and let rise a little. Mix the eggs with a pinch of salt. Add the flour to the yeast, add the eggs afterwards and knead with a dough hook or by hand to form a homogeneous mass. Cover and let rise for half an hour in a warm place.
  2. Let some oil get hot (but not too hot!) In a coated pan and fry 1 - 2 tablespoon portions of the dough on both sides until golden brown (in a pan you can sear up to 4 pieces at the same time).
  3. The Poles prefer to eat Racuchy (pronounced: Ratzuchy) with powdered sugar, homemade jam or plum jam (Powidla). Variations with applesauce and / or maple syrup are of course also possible.
