Instructions

  1. Drain the cherries well in a sieve, dab with a household roll if necessary, dust a little with flour and set aside.
  2. For the dough, stir the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar well and then add the eggs. Add cinnamon, star anise and cocoa powder and stir. Stir in the flour mixed with baking powder and the red wine alternately. Finally fold in the chocolate flakes.
  3. Grease a ring cake or wreath dish (26 cm) well and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  4. First pour a thin layer of dough into the greased pan and smooth it out.
  5. Carefully fold in the drained cherries into the remaining batter and pour into the cake tin.
  6. Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 190 ° C for approx. 60 - 75 minutes on the middle rack.
