Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into fine cubes.
  2. Put in a saucepan and cook gently in 1 liter of stock for about 5 minutes.
  3. Take out a good half of the potatoes and mash them. Put it back in the pot.
  4. Peel the celery and kohlrabi and cut into large pieces. The same is done with the carrots. Peel the onion as well and cut it into very fine cubes. Add everything to the potatoes in the pot.
  5. Add the rest of the broth as well as caraway seeds, salt and pepper (to taste) and bring to the boil briefly. Turn off the stove and let the soup steep. (Due to the size of the vegetable pieces, they are quickly soft or firm to the bite)
  6. If you like, you can sear bacon or sausages and add them to the soup, which gives the whole thing a heartier taste.
  7. For the sake of simplicity, soup greens (usually contains celery, carrots, leeks and parsley) can also be used, simply use 2 packs of soup greens (depending on the size of the pack).
  8. The dish is quick and easy to prepare.
  9. If you like it coarse, you don`t have to mash the potatoes.
