Instructions

  1. Bring the water with the sugar, the cinnamon stick and the cloves to a boil. Peel the rhubarb thinly and cut into pieces approx. 1 cm in size. Peel and core the pear and cut into very small cubes. Peel the kiwis and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Wash the orange thoroughly. Cut half of the peel into very fine thin strips. Remove the white skin from the flesh of the orange and cut into small pieces. Now put all the cut fruit in the boiling water and cook for about 20 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, cut the strawberries and the peeled bananas into slices and after about 10-15 minutes add them to the boiling water so that they don`t get too soft. Stir in between and season to taste. Possibly sweeten with sugar. If it is too sweet, just fill up with boiled water. Sweeteners can also be used instead of sugar.
  4. Let the covered compote cool down on the stove and then continue to cool in the refrigerator at least overnight. Serve this very cold compote as a refreshment in bowls.
