Instructions

  1. Wash the rice. Add the milk with 50 g sugar, salt and grated lemon zest and cook the rice in it and let it soak on a low level for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally!
  2. In the meantime, grease a baking dish. Wash, peel and chop the apples. Mix with the raisins (possibly marinated in rum) and the cinnamon sugar. Pour half of the rice porridge into the baking dish, spread the apple mixture over it and the remaining rice porridge on top.
  3. Whisk the cream or milk with the remaining sugar (4 tablespoon) and possibly an egg, pour over and sprinkle flakes of butter on top. Bake at 225 ° C top / bottom heat on the middle rack for about 40 minutes.
  4. Serve with vanilla sauce.
  5. The rice casserole can also be eaten cold!
