Cook the rice in sufficiently salted water, drain it and set it aside to cool.
Wash, core and cut the peppers into small pieces, do the same with the apple. Also cut the onion into small cubes. Cut the ham and cheese into small pieces and add everything to the cooled rice. Mix everything well. Season to taste with 1 tablespoon of oil and a little vinegar and salt.
Let it steep in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
The salad also tastes good if you prepare it a day in advance and leave it in the refrigerator.
If you like, you can also add fresh herbs, e.g. parsley, to the salad.
