Fry the rice in the hot oil, stirring constantly, add the salt. Let the rice puff, the more rice puffs the better. Before it gets too dark, add hot broth, bring to the boil, turn off the stove and let the rice soak on the plate for 20 minutes.
If desired, fold in the chopped herbs before serving.
