Instructions

  1. Cut the onion into small cubes and place on a saucer. Sprinkle with salt and let it steep.
  2. In the meantime, cut the herring into cubes (size to taste) and put in a large bowl (better to stir later) with the oil. Add the sour cream and add the cream. Dice the cucumbers and put them in too. Chop the dill, cut into small pieces and add the parsley. Save some parsley to sprinkle the salad with before serving. Pepper to it. Add a dash of garlic sauce and tartar sauce. Add about a pinch of horseradish (tube or glass, it doesn`t matter). I usually take cream horseradish out of a tube because it`s not that hot. Grate apples (grate size like potato pancakes) and put in.
  3. Now it`s the turn of the onion. Using the bottom of a glass bottle, carefully crush the salt-infused onion on the saucer. Put the mashed onion in the bowl. Add a little sugar and now stir everything thoroughly and season to taste, maybe a little pepper or dill. Garnish with the leftover parsley and put it in the fridge.
  4. Jacket potatoes go well with it, but they are also delicious with bread or something similar.
