Instructions
- Put the egg whites in a bowl and beat until creamy with an electric mixer. Add lemon juice. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and mix well.
- A good royal icing should have the consistency of toothpaste. Just add more lemon juice if the mixture is too thick.
- If the royal icing is not to be used immediately, always cover it with cling film!
- For further color combinations, distribute the royal icing in small bowls and mix with the desired color.
- Then apply the icing to the cookies or gingerbread with a small piping bag.
