Finely chop the onion and chilli pepper and sauté in plenty of olive oil. When the onions are nicely colored, add the brown sugar and stir. Then deglaze the whole thing with the diced tomatoes and let it boil down a little. After 5 minutes, mix with the ketchup and tomato paste and season with parsley, salt and pepper.
The sauce came out of my head one evening - so it`s not necessarily an original salsa. Goes wonderfully with grilled food, on hamburgers or simply as a dip.
