To prepare such delicious, juicy ham and cheese sandwiches, it will take an ordinary pan and very little time. Just what you need for a delicious hearty breakfast.
Cut the cheese into 4 thin square plates – the thinner the better. The slabs should be approximately the same size as the bread slices.
Cut two cheese slices into small pieces. Leave the other two intact.
We also cut the ham into flat squares.
In a bowl, mix the egg and milk. Add salt and pepper. If the cheese is salty, no salt is needed.
Stir until smooth.
Melt the butter in a frying pan and add olive oil.
Dip two slices of bread into the egg mixture.
Put 2 slices of bread in a frying pan.
Put 1/4 of the sliced cheese on one of the slices.
Put half of the chopped ham on the cheese.
Put some more cheese on the ham.
Brown the bread over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes on one side. Then combine 2 toasts. Transfer the resulting sandwich to a plate. In the same way, collect and fry the second sandwich.
When both sandwiches are ready, combine them together in a skillet.
Pour the remaining egg mixture over them.
We reduce the heat to a minimum.
Cover the sandwiches with the set aside pieces of cheese, cover the pan with a lid and wait 1-2 minutes.
As soon as the cheese is melted, transfer the sandwiches to a plate, removing the excess egg mixture from the sides.
Pan-fried ham sandwiches in a cheese coat are ready. We serve them hot, garnished with greens if desired.
