Go Back

The nationwide love of Americans (or rather, New Yorkers) for the famous Ruben sandwich dates back to the 1920s. They say that this sandwich was invented by a certain Ruben Kulakowski. But it is still unknown who came up with the recipe for a sandwich of rye bread, corned beef (or smoked beef – pastrami), cheese, sauerkraut and Russian sauce (the sauce, by the way, was also invented in America). Keeping in mind that fast food should not be overused, however, recognizing the attractive power of this food, I suggest making a ham sandwich at home – this is a great snack for cold beer!
