First, slowly melt the peanut butter in a saucepan over low heat. Slowly stir in the milk, some of the milk can be replaced with water until the consistency becomes creamy. Gradually add the garlic and ginger, season with ketjap manis and sambal oelek. Do not add any salt as Ketjap Manis is already salty.
Simmer for a few minutes, stirring constantly, and dilute with a little water if necessary. The sauce is served warm.
The sauce goes well with satay skewers. Variation: Try the sauce with French fries!
