Sausage in pita bread is homemade fast food. Add cheese, green onions, pickled cucumber, and your favorite sauce to the sausage for piquancy. Such fast food is suitable as a “party” for a walk, to a summer cottage or a picnic.
Cut the cheese and pickled cucumbers into cubes. Chop the green onion along the length of the sausage. For piquancy, I added chili and olives; for children, you can skip these ingredients.
On a sheet of pita bread, put sausage, a few cubes of cucumber and cheese, green onions, chili rings, olives, and a little mayonnaise. If desired, mayonnaise can be substituted for ketchup or mustard.
We wrap the pita bread with a roll.
We spread pita rolls with sausages, cucumbers, and cheese on a baking sheet, sprinkle a little with olive oil, sprinkle with Provencal herbs.
We bake the pita bread with the filling in the oven at a temperature of 190 degrees for 15 minutes. The cheese will melt, and the pita bread will be fried, becoming crispy and crumbly.
