Instructions

  1. * The basic dough is in my recipes!
  2. Put all ingredients in a bowl and knead for a good 10 minutes or let a machine knead. (It is best to knead until the dough comes off the edge of the bowl easily.
  3. Can also be prepared in the BBA)
  4. Now add the onions, ham or bacon cubes to the dough and knead again briefly.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 1-2 hours, depending on how strong the Siegfried dough is.
  6. (If it is very young, it is best to add 10g of fresh yeast to the dough, otherwise it will not rise properly.)
  7. After rising, knead the dough again briefly and either shape it into a baguette or grind rolls.
  8. I always make about half a 200g baguette and half a 100g roll.
  9. Cover the baguette and / or bread roll and let it rise again until it has increased in volume. (Takes about 30-45 minutes)
  10. Preheat the oven to 250 ° C.
  11. Before shooting into the oven, briefly brush the rolls or baguettes with water and cut into them with a very sharp knife.
  12. Now put the trays in the oven and bake everything on top / bottom heat for 20 minutes.
  13. The baguette takes 30 minutes on the highest level.
  14. Now switch the temperature down to 200 ° C and bake for another 10 minutes, regardless of whether it is a roll or a baguette.
  15. I like to have a salad with it, or with cream cheese, etc.
  16. They are quick and easy to prepare and the Siegfried gives them a fine aroma and keeps them fresh for a long time!
