Instructions

  1. Make the salad the day before - it has to go through well!
  2. Cook the potatoes in salted water until cooked for about 20-25 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, cut all other ingredients into small pieces (dice) and place in a large bowl.
  4. When the potatoes are ready, let them cool down and then cut them into small pieces (bite-sized into cubes or slices, depending on your taste) and put them in the peel as well. At the end add Miracle Whip and stir thoroughly. As an alternative to Miracle Whip, you can also use tartar sauce and some cream. At the end, season with a little salt (be careful! Salty aromas come through the herring in the salad, so not too much salt!) And pepper to taste.
  5. The salad has to sit in the refrigerator overnight at least. Apple and herring give it its special taste. The next day before serving, season again with pepper and, if necessary, a little salt - done!
  6. We always serve Silesian white sausage with it.
  7. My grandma made this potato salad every year and the recipe has been passed down (orally) in the family for ages. I would like to share it here. The quantities were given after the last cooking (by my wife) - Grandma and also my mother always did it by feeling.
