Cook the spaghetti in plenty of boiling salted water until they are firm to the bite, depending on the type or package instructions.
Meanwhile, put the tomato puree in a preheated bowl. Wash the basil briefly, drain and cut into strips. Peel and finely dice the garlic. Mix the basil, garlic, oil, salt and pepper into the tomato puree. Slice and add the cheese.
Drain the finished spaghetti (do not quench) and mix immediately with the tomato sauce and serve hot.
