Instructions

  1. Prepare the pre-dough with a little flour, a little milk, a little sugar and the yeast and let it rise for 15 minutes.

  3. Wash the raisins, dry them and roll them in flour. This is necessary so that they do not sink down in the soft dough during baking.
  4. Knead the melted butter into the dough, then add the chopped almonds and floured raisins.
  5. Form 2 braids and place in a large buttered casserole dish or in the drip pan. Let rise there for another hour.
  6. Brush with beaten egg yolk and top with flaked almonds or half walnuts.
  7. Bake at 180 ° for about 1.5 hours. After the first browning, cover the second half of the baking time with aluminum foil. Check the color from time to time.
