Sour Cream Jelly Instructions

  1. The gelatin solution is prepared as follows. First, gelatin is poured with cold boiled water (for 10 g of gelatin – 80-100 ml of water).
  2. The gelatin is left to swell for 40-60 minutes. Instant gelatin swells in about 10-15 minutes.
  3. The swollen gelatin is heated for several minutes, stirring, over low heat (do not boil!), Until the gelatin is completely dissolved. If necessary, if there are grains left, filter the gelatin.
  4. Then a thick sugar syrup is prepared. To do this, pour sugar into a saucepan, add about 30 g (2 tablespoons) of water, stir.
  5. Then heat for 3-4 minutes over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool down.
  6. Sour cream and vanilla sugar are added to the thick sugar syrup. Mix well (you can beat with a mixer).
  7. Dissolved and strained gelatin is poured into sour cream (it should not be cold). Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
  8. Sour cream jelly is poured into molds or bowls. Place in the refrigerator for several hours (after 4-5 hours the jelly will solidify).
  9. Ready-made sour cream jelly can be decorated with fruit or chocolate. You can make sour cream jelly with the addition of cocoa powder, banana puree, etc. Layers of sour cream jelly can be alternated with fruit jelly – you get a very beautiful striped dessert.

Bon Appetit!
