Heat the milk and butter in a saucepan. Put the flour and salt in a mixing bowl and pour in the warm milk / butter mixture. Process everything into a firm but smooth dough, shape into a dumpling and cover, leave to rest for about 30 minutes.
Then halve the dough and roll out each half about 20 cm and cut into 8 squares. Place the dough pieces on a greased tray and prick each one several times with a fork. Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Then leave to stand in the switched off oven for about 5 minutes.
If you want, you can cut out the dough with molds (like cookies). It`s fun for children, looks beautiful and is also healthy!
