Instructions

  1. There are at least three reasons why you should try this snack: 1. it is delicious, 2. it is low carb and 3. it is vegan. And it`s also extremely easy to prepare. Definitely a successful alternative to traditional nibbles.
  2. 1. Put the chickpeas in a colander, rinse under cold water and drain thoroughly.
  3. 2. Then place the chickpeas on a tea towel, spread them out, cover with a kitchen towel and let them dry for about 30 minutes.
  4. 3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the dried chickpeas on it so that they are not on top of each other.
  5. 4. Now put the chickpeas in the oven and bake at 190 degrees, fan-assisted 175 degrees, for 30 to 35 minutes. Open the oven every 10 minutes and shake the baking sheet or turn the peas a little with your hands. At the end of the baking process, they should be lightly browned and crispy.
  6. 5. Next, prepare the spice mixture. Put a teaspoon each of the cayenne pepper or chili powder, cumin, garlic granules, paprika and salt in a bowl and mix everything together.
  7. 6. Put the baked chickpeas in a bowl, drizzle with a few drops of oil and stir so that they are coated all around with a thin film of oil.
  8. 7. Now add the still warm chickpeas to the spice mixture, toss in them or stir everything until the spice mixture is fairly evenly distributed. Then let it cool down to room temperature and this great snack is ready.
