Leave the diced bacon in the lard. Cut the cabbage into narrow strips, dice the onion and add to the browned bacon. Stir in 1 - 2 teaspoons of sugar, let everything brown well. This is important for the spicy taste and takes about 10 minutes.
Season, add a little water. Let it stew briefly, but be careful not to let the cabbage get too soft. Finally stir in the sour cream and season to taste.
