Cut the dates into small cubes. Cook the rice with the dates in salted water according to the instructions on the packet.
Cut the tofu into pieces, chop the onions, peel and dice the carrots and peel and cut the banana into strips.
Heat the oil in a pan, fry the tofu in it first, then reduce the heat. After about five minutes add the carrots and fry for another 5 minutes over medium heat. Add the onions and fry them. When the tofu and carrots are cooked as desired, mix in the banana and rice and heat everything again. Season to taste with pepper, chili powder, soy sauce and lime juice.
