First, the onion is finely diced. Then the chili peppers are pitted and finely chopped together with the garlic.
Now some olive oil is heated in a pan and onions, garlic and chilli are sautéed for 1 minute, then deglazed with the canned tomatoes. Then add the spices, sugar and a pinch of lemon juice. The mass is now brought to the boil and then simmered for 5 - 6 minutes until it thickens a little.
Now let the salsa cool down briefly and then serve directly.
