Instructions

  1. Knead the flour, water, yeast, salt and oil into a dough, cover with a kitchen towel and set aside.
  2. For the filling, dice the onions and sauté in butter for 5 minutes. Squeeze in the garlic and cook until the onions are golden brown. Mix the onions and garlic with the thawed spinach and crumbled feta. Season generously with pepper, salt and herbs. If you like, you can add chilli.
  3. Halve the dough for the sun. Roll one half out on a floured work surface into a circle with a diameter of 30 cm and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Spread the spinach mixture on top. To do this, put a circle with a diameter of 15 cm in the middle and draw a ring from the mass around this circle. There should be a distance of about 5 cm between the circle and the ring. The ring should be about 2 inches wide.
  4. Roll out the second half of the dough and pour it over the filling. Press the contact surfaces a little and cut 16 times with a knife from the edge of the inner feta circle outwards. Rotate the individual parts by 90 degrees so that the filling becomes visible. Brush the sun with the beaten egg and bake in the preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 40 to 50 minutes.
