Instructions

  1. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar with the mixer until you get a creamy mixture in which you can see the traces of the stirrer. Mix the flour and baking powder and pour through a sieve onto the creamy mass. Fold in with a mixing spoon until no more traces of flour can be seen.
  2. Cut and halve the apples. Cut the apple back with a knife, but do not cut through it.
  3. Fill the biscuit mixture into a 28 or 26 springform pan with only the bottom greased. Never grease the edge of biscuits, as this will prevent the dough from rising. Place the apples on the mixture with the incised side facing up. Do not press into the dough, as it will wrap itself around the apples as it climbs up. Dust with powdered sugar (to which cinnamon or clove powder or both can be added).
  4. Bake at 175 - 190 ° C for 30 - 35 minutes on the lowest rack. Switch off the oven and leave to stand in the oven for about 5 to 10 minutes.
