Instructions

  1. First, weigh or prepare all ingredients. Separate the eggs and beat the 3 egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff and set aside.
  2. Mix the 3 egg yolks with 200 g sugar and vanilla sugar with a hand mixer until a sticky mass has formed and the sugar has dissolved. Then stir in 200 ml of oil and then put the blender away.
  3. From now on, continue working with the whisk and add the 200 ml of warm water. Then stir in the flour mixed with baking powder, spoon by spoon. If the dough becomes too firm, add 1 tablespoon of egg whites if necessary. Otherwise, carefully fold in the egg whites completely at the end. Bake at 175 - 180 ° C for one hour.
  4. It is important to prepare the cake in this way, because at least I won`t succeed if I just mix everything with the hand mixer - then it always has a cut in the middle, in other words, it is not completely through, no matter how long you take it bakes - it rises nicely and then collapses. This does not happen with the preparation described above and I have been baking the cake like this for more than 10 years.
  5. You can use the cake in many ways. I like to experiment and have often replaced the 200 ml water with other liquids, such as B. 200 ml apple juice or banana juice etc. If you use fruit, it must of course be drained very well and possibly dusted with flour beforehand. My favorite thing is the cake with cinnamon and apples.
