Instructions

  1. Prepare the tacos, chimichurri and steak at least six hours before preparing the meal.
  2. For the tacos batter:
  3. Mix all the ingredients for the tacos together, put them in the fridge for at least six hours and let them rest.
  4. For the sauce (chimichurri):
  5. Chop the parsley, cut the onion into small cubes, chop the garlic cloves and dice the peppers. Puree everything together with some of the olive oil. Now add the remaining ingredients, stir and put in the refrigerator for at least six hours.
  6. For the filling:
  7. Cut the fat and tendons from the meat. Then cut the beef into small pieces, similar to sliced meat and then season with the steak seasoning. Add a little water and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least six hours.
  8. Preparation of the tacos:
  9. Let a pan get hot and pour in the batter with a ladle so that the batter is thinly distributed. It is also important not to cover the whole pan, otherwise the cakes will be too big. Fry the dough until the top of the cake is dry, then turn the dough over and let it cook.
  10. Prepare a wire rack in the oven and hang the baked flatbread over two bars of the wire rack so that the sides of the taco hang down evenly. Repeat this until all eight flat cakes are hanging on the wire rack. Switch the oven to 200 C top / bottom heat and bake the flatbreads for ten minutes. Open the oven and let the flatbreads cool down on the wire rack in the oven.
  11. In the meantime, grate the carrots very finely on a grater and place in a bowl. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and place in a bowl. Crumble the feta cheese with a fork and also place in a separate bowl.
  12. Put the oil in a pan and heat it up. Add the marinated meat and fry until it is hot. You can add a little more steak seasoning to taste. Season to taste with salt.
  13. Now carefully take the taco shells out of the wire rack and fill them first with meat, then with carrots and tomatoes. Top with the feta cheese and pour the chimichurri over it like a sauce.
