Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries, remove the stems and cut in half.
  2. Heat the butter in the pan, stir in cane sugar and let it caramelize. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the port wine. Mix in the strawberries and sprinkle with a little black pepper. Heat again briefly without the strawberries collapsing.
  3. Serve as an accompaniment to vanilla ice cream or straight with a little cream.
