Instructions

  1. First separate the eggs.
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff. Now beat the egg yolks with 6 tablespoons of hot water until frothy. Add sugar, vanilla sugar and 1 tablespoon lemon juice and beat again until frothy. Fold in the flour, baking powder and egg whites. Place the dough on a prepared baking sheet (drip pan, approx. 30 cm x 40 cm).
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 25 minutes.
  4. Now mix the quark with sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Soak the gelatine in a little water according to the instructions on the packet, then heat it up in the microwave and liquefy it. Stir in the quark. Now whip the cream until stiff and fold in. Spread everything on the cooled sponge cake.
  5. Clean and halve the fresh strawberries and arrange on top of the cake. Prepare the icing with fruit juice according to the instructions on the packet and then pour over the strawberries.
  6. Note: Half of the ingredients are sufficient for a thick cake base in a springform pan.
